Buy squash balls

The squash ball determines the quality of your game. A worn ball or the wrong type of ball makes squash frustrating instead of challenging. The difference lies in the bounce: each colour dot represents a specific level, from beginner to professional. By choosing the right squash ball, you play with a ball that warms up and stays lively during the game.

Which squash ball suits your level?

Squash balls come in four varieties, recognisable by their colour and number of dots. The Intro ball is ideal for beginners: it bounces well straight away without needing to be warmed up. After a few months, you can switch to the Progress ball. Please note: in winter, squash balls bounce less due to the lower temperature on the court. In that case, choose a ball with more bounce to keep the rallies going.

Pro (double yellow dot)
The official match ball for advanced players. Very low bounce, maximum control.

Competition (single yellow dot)
For advanced players who want more bounce. Same dimensions as the Pro, but 10% more bounce. Perfect for training or cold courts.

Progress (red dot)
The recreational ball: 6% larger than the Pro and 20% more bounce. Suitable for players who have mastered the basics.

Intro (blue dot)
The beginner's ball: 12% larger than the Pro and 40% more bounce. No warming up required.

Why do you need to warm up squash balls?

Squash balls contain air that has little pressure at room temperature. By hitting the ball against the wall, you convert kinetic energy into heat. The air in the ball heats up, the pressure increases and the ball bounces better. Allow a few minutes for warming up before you start playing. The Intro ball is an exception: you can use it immediately. The Progress ball only needs a short warm-up.

When should you replace a squash ball?

A squash ball consists of two rubber halves that are glued together. Air gradually escapes, reducing the internal pressure. You will notice this because the ball responds less well and bounces less well. At that point, replacement is necessary.

How often depends on your playing style and frequency. Those who hit hard will need to replace them more often. Therefore, always keep extra squash balls in your bag so that you can continue to play well during training sessions and matches.
